Empty and Full Pockets

.
I passed by a networking establishment and I overheard what the speaker said as he was giving a lecture about their product and ways of earning money. He said, "Lack of money is the root of evil."

Is it? (brows crossed) WRONG!!! The Bible clearly tells us that love of money is the root of all evil, not the lack of it.
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1 Timothy 6:10 (New King James Version)

Lack of money really can lead people to do unlawful things, e.g. stealing. But, it can also lead to a closer walk with God as one faithfully depends his needs on Him. There is a choice.

Love of money, on the other hand, can only lead us to one direction - doing evil. Why? Loving money means idolizing it and idols are detestable to God's sight.

Is gaining much money a no-no? I don't think so. It depends on our attitude towards it. I like how Lawreal thinks about it: Is money-saving tantamount to the love of money?

i heard that also from our Pastor ("Lack of money is the root of evil.") but he meant it as a joke.
